Address all three sides of the audience, and remember if you are facing one side, your back is to the other side!
Keep in mind the size of the stage and plan the number of performers and choreography accordingly.
Move deliberately. Even if you aren’t dancing, your movements should see intentonal and planning them out can help.
The Money
Allow yourself time to collect tips, but don’t count on it!
The audience may prefer to hand you tips or may prefer to throw them.
When taking tips, try to make eye contact with the tipper--
Think of tipping as a momentary relationship/connection.
Don’t immediately toss money to the floor--try to incorporate it into your movements before putting it down, or even just hold on to it for a moment.
Throwing it down may seem disrespectful and discourage
audience members from tipping you.
King Persona
You convey a persona through performance.
Consider whether your character is an extension of yourself
or a complete creation of your imagination.
Be aware of how others and the audience recieve your king character and use those interactions to cultivate your confidence as a king.
If you think of your king character as separate from yourself, some acting techniques may help you develop your character.
Developing king personas may be a great discussion topic
with other kings and your king buddy.
Kingprov
Not every performance goes as smoothly as in your living room--
be prepared for surprises and unexpected audience interaction
Roll with the punches--try to incorporate unplanned events into your number.
If it’s smooth, the audience may not even know!
If something doesn’t go as planned use it as an opportunity
to learn and grow as a performer.
King Passion
One of the most effective means of entertaining an audience
is to really connect with your music emmotionally.
The most amazing performers in King History are able
to let go of themselves and delve into the music.
Throw yourself into your music when you are practicing.
Get excited about how the music sounds, feels and moves you.
Passion is key!
